How it works – PSD to WordPress theme in a few steps

Choose your Divine Elemente work strategy
There are two basic strategic approaches and the choice depends on the tasks set. For instance, if you have just started learning WordPress theme building with Divine Elemente plugin, the basic layout creation would be more wisely to begin with.
Build a WordPress theme from a basic PSD template created in Layout Editor
- Create the basic PSD template using Elemente’s Layout Editor
- Set elements and their properties in Publish Editor
- Publish WordPress theme and edit elements in frontend of a WordPress CMS
If you already have a ready-made template, you should try to set elements in Publish Editor.
This approach is rational if you already have a ready-made PSD template and all you need is to re-engineer to Divine Elemente rules.
After several attempts, I managed to create basic theme in Photoshop and having changed it a little I uploaded it to server.
Feature highlights
Let me highlight a few of unique and useful plugin features:
Built in Community and Themes Marketplace

Looks like a trend to create designs and sell them on a Marketplace. Those who worked with ThemeForest or other Envato Marketplaces will immediately recognize the basic Marketplace workflow principles: each transaction is divided and each part (theme author and Divine Elemente team in this case) gets a percentage of the sale.
Pixel Precise Advanced Typography With Custom Fonts

All text data from browser is positioned in the same location and with the same fonts as in Adobe Photoshop. In addition, not only bold and italics settings converted into HTML/CSS, but also 95% of other important settings.
Divine Elemente is the only solution coming into the market with pixel precise text positioning. Other tools position text data roughly and do not have pixel precision features.
Billboard (jQuery slider)

It’s a fact that today, a lot of designers use beautiful slides, most powered by jQuery. For example, in the Header grid block in order to show 3 to 5 best projects in portfolio or cute photos in a personal blog. Besides, the Billboard widget allows not only to create changing slides, but apply these transformations in the most excellent way and with great JS animation.
In-place editing with Editable content

Editable Content is another magnificent feature. With its help, it is easy to adjust any page elements and replace them with YouTube, Twitter, Facebook, forms widgets, and so on. You can basically edit stylized PSD content directly in WordPress.
Create multiple pages

With Divine Elemente you get an option to create several pages from a single template. It allows you to connect navigation menu items either with current pages or new ones created by you. And all these pages of various types will have a custom content or predefined one (such as contacts, portfolio gallery with separate images).
Seamless background stretch

Seamless background stretch is a unique technology provided by Divine Elemente only, that for the first time in the web industry allows to display textures or background of a website block at vertical stretching or compression with no visible seams. This is perfect for leather, paper, wood textures, etc.
960 Grid Tool

I guess anyone that designs websites already knows about 960GS. In Divine Elemente, the 960 Grid tool represents universal dimensions to arrange web page elements in the most consistent way, and it gives your web pages a professional look & feel. There you have it, easy integration with one of the most popular CSS grid systems (if not the most popular).
W3C valid / SEO friendly / semantic code

Unlike other solutions, Divine Elemente assures HTML / CSS code is well readable and has no errors. W3C valid code
So, to wrap it up…
Divine Elemente is a great tool with a lot of potential, that enables even people with close-to-none coding skills to create a ready-made blog theme in minutes, without any time-consuming routine actions.
For the purpose of this review, the Divine team provided me with the pre-launch Divine Elemente 0.9.0.523 build (under Windows OS, 32bit).
I’m running Photoshop CS5 (thanks to my day job) and I did notice weird behavior sometimes, but with each version, devs are fixing those issues and always improving the plugin.
When the great people over at Divine Project release the final, stable version, I really think this one will be a key-player on the market, if not the biggest of them all. Why? Well, to be honest, there simply isn’t any other software out there yet, that’s this good and easy to use.
Also, the price announced as $199.99 will definitely make a good investment. If you create themes to sell on the Themes Marketplace or, if you have a customer database as a freelancer, Divine Elemente can pretty quickly pay for itself. I’d say go for it!
